Striking Gold in Malta

This week, a new article entitled ‘Striking Gold – The Glittering Island of Malta‘ was published by Luxury Travel Magazine. I always love seeing the finished product, complete with pictures and concise travel recommendations at the end of the article. Here’s a sneak preview:

In the center of the Mediterranean, there is an island full of ancient temples and impressive yachts that isn’t on the radar of many American travelers. As I peered down into the Grand Harbor from the capital city of Valletta, I wondered how Malta could possibly be such a well-kept secret. This view of the glistening water below was only the beginning of a trip filled with surprises from sophisticated cuisine to a medieval walled city. My eyes darted from baroque buildings to 17th century arches to historic forts and I realized that I had struck gold: Malta was the perfect blend of authentic, old Europe with a dash of luxury.

If you’re still unsure about Malta, maybe some pictures will convince you to visit this stunning Mediterranean Island.

The capital city of Valetta, as seen from the Upper Barrakka Gardens, is a striking baroque city where I wandered between historical sites and sunny cafes.

More views from the Upper Barrakka Gardens, gazing down to the harbor where the famous Maltese Falcon was docked during my trip.

The architecture will transport you back to a different time in history. Whether you see the sites or not, you are sure to feel the old-world atmosphere of Valetta.

There is a distinct feeling that Malta is not only a historical site, but also a great place to live. This sleepy cat is perfect evidence for the lived-in feel of Valetta.
