How Sweet It Is: Ireland’s Sugar Loaf Palace

My most recent article for Luxury Travel Magazine, ‘How Sweet It Is: Ireland’s Sugar Loaf Mountain Palace’ was published just in time for St Patrick’s Day.

During my weekend at Powerscourt, the battery on my digital camera died, and upon returning to Dublin – I realized I had left the charger in the States. Only yesterday did my charger arrive,  and the fantastic images of my sunny weekend in Wicklow were unlocked from the memory card.

Read my article for full details on the decadent breakfast, peaceful river walk, stunning views, and culinary creations of Gordon Ramsay that the fantastic Ritz Carlton Powerscourt offers.

Or if you think a picture is worth 1,000 words, take a look to see what’s been hiding in my camera for the last month:

We woke up on Saturday morning to light streaming in the suite:

And stepped onto the balcony to see the Sugar Loaf Mountain:

This photo is not from a brochure:

After breakfast we headed outside for a stroll along the River Walk:

And made a new friend along the way:

He has a lovely home:

We saw the first flowers of the season:

And a beautiful old stone house:

And took a rest amongst the ancient trees:

And this was all before 2pm! This weekend convinced me that sometimes the best getaways are very close to home.

Interested in the Ritz Carlton Powerscourt? Head over to my article on Luxury Travel Magazine to read about the ‘Peace of Mind’ package – you might find yourself strolling along the River Walk sooner than you thought!
